This is the adorable seal pup that washed up on some rocks – and took the time to make the most of the sunshine.
The tiny one-month-old baby seal was captured on camera preening itself in the rays on a beachfront.
The pup was uninjured and perfectly healthy, and drew quite a crowd at the Marine Lake Causeway in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, near to the RNLI gift shop, shortly before 9am.
The seal was reported to the British Divers’ Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR), who worked with council beach rangers to move the pup to a quieter area for release.
A BDMLR spokesman said: “We have moved it somewhere a bit quieter as it was getting distressed by the attention.
“A local ranger stayed with it for a few hours to keep people away.”
And a North Somerset Council spokesperson added: “It was collected from the BDMLR at about 12.30pm, and taken somewhere a bit quieter to be released.
“It was on the rocks and it was very healthy and not injured. The divers think it was a bit cold and was getting some sun.”
