A dog transport company is helping to feed pooches in war torn Ukraine after collecting nearly 5,000kg worth of food. Daisybrook International Pet Transport is collecting dog food donations from around the UK and has been inundated with 300 bags. See SWNS story SWSCdogs. The firm, based in Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire, has already dropped off 190 bags to a contact in Germany who has it picked up and delivered to the Polish border. Owner Matthew Hunt, 52, drove their specialised dog van, crammed to the roof with food, to Germany on Tuesday (March 15) and plans to make the trip once a week. Transport manager Charlotte Carpenter, 28, said her house is stacked with the bags of food and hopes it will help raise awareness of the plight of pooches in Ukraine. The company, which collects show dogs for buyers across Europe, has also delivered boxes of collars, leads, coats, beds and toys, as well as cat food.
