A grandfather was sitting in the tub when a fox jumped through a bathroom window and brazenly wondered around his flat before being chased out.
The wild animal vaulted over a wall and through a narrow gap in the window to get into the flat, before the shocked man spotted the red-furred intruder.
George Sandell was preparing to head out for an evening before he was joined by the fox.
The 64-year-old was lying in the bath when he saw the fox suddenly jump through an open window of his first floor flat in Worthing, West Sussex.
The intrepid animal had scaled a wall in order to get through the window of the bathroom last month.
Shocked George got out of the water and filmed the fox as he tried to get it out of the flat.
He said: “I was just lying in the bath and then suddenly a fox jumped through the window, he made an awfully loud noise, it sounded like the whole building was subsiding.
“It was amazing how he got into the bathroom, my flat is on the first floor so he must have climbed a few walls to get in.
“He was suddenly looking straight up at me. I was a little scared at first, but he was more scared of me, it was incredible.
“I shut the bathroom door and left him there to find his way out, but when I went back he was still there. I opened the front door and tried to get him to go out.
“Once he was in, he just wouldn’t leave. I eventually managed to get him out of the front door after a while.
“I am so glad that I recorded the whole thing because nobody would have believed me otherwise.”
After calling partner Sheila Marshall, George decided to film the incident to prove it had actually happened.
The footage shows George get right up to the fox as it sits in his bathroom, before it dashes past him and walks around his flat before fleeing down the stairs and out the front door.
George, who works as a mechanic, added: “I called my girlfriend to tell her and she just put the phone down, she didn’t believe me. So I filmed him to show her I was telling the truth.”
The grandfather-of-two said the fox has since been back to visit again and he believes the animal recognised him.
He said: “I saw him sitting on the wall outside and he must have recognised me and jumped down. I beckoned him in and he ran up the stairs and then ran around and back out again.”
