Kato the toothless cat who can't meow is the beneficiary of a multi-thousand-pound fundraiser to fix her mysterious skin condition. See SWNS story SWLNcat. Kato has had a hard start to life. She was given into Cats Protection in a bad way from a "multi-cat household" in mid-lockdown of 2020. Five-year-old Kato had to have all her teeth removed due to decay after arriving at the Milton Keynes branch in Bedfordshire. She was then treated for a "mild digestive issue". After initially being rehomed she was then returned to the centre not once but twice by two prospective owners after developing an eye ulcer and needing "patience and care". Kato is now in her forever home with lucky owner Federica Pasari but her problems aren't quite over. Kato has since developed a mystery skin condition which becomes so itchy Kato can make her face bleed from irritation, losing fur and skin across her face. Federica is now fundraising after the insurers refused to cover the 'preexisting condition'.
