This heart-warming footage shows the incredible bond between a pair of dogs and their owner’s horse including the moment – they are filmed taking him for a WALK.
Nine-year-old miniature horse Bon Jovi, nicknamed Bonnie, was rescued from an abusive home and adopted by Jessica Chemin, four-years-ago.
Bonnie now lives with Jessica, and her two french bulldogs Lola and Nacho, at their home in Cape Town, South Africa.
The animals have become the closest of friends and spend their days playing together and enjoying each other’s company.
Jessica filmed the moment the pawsome pooches took hold of Bonnie’s reigns and began leading him outside for a walk on September 27th 2020.
Jessica, 21, who is in her final year of studying organisational psychology at the University of Cape Town said: “He now loves going for walks with the pups.
“Bon Jovi, more fondly known as Bonnie, was rescued by Wellfare from an abusive home and, after his former owner could no longer keep him, we adopted him.
“He was named after Bon Jovi because of his wild nature, but after living with us he has calmed down so much and become such a ‘home body’.
“We often find him sneaking into the house because he knows where the snack draw in the kitchen is.”
“We have had Bonnie for four years now, and have had Lola for almost a year. Lola and Bonnie got on from the moment they met. We have only had Nacho for two months now and he loves spending time with Bonnie already!
“They all get on so well. I will often find Lola and Nacho down in the garden, lying on the grass while Bonnie grazes nearby. They seem to really enjoy eachothers company which makes my heart so happy.
“The three of them really seem to have the sweetest kinship and seeing their friendship makes my heart so full.
“I couldn’t believe it when I saw Lola and Nacho taking Bonnie for a walk. It really has taken their relationship to the next level as know whenever they see the lead rein being clipped onto Bonnie’s halter they both want to lead him up to the stables.
“There is something about seeing animals do cute things that makes one so happy.
“They are always making me laugh and smile and i’m so glad I got the moment on camera so that I could share it with everyone.”
