A cheeky golden retriever ruined her moment in the spotlight by diving into deep mud – seconds before a professional photoshoot.
Owner Natasha Bells wanted a nice set of pictures of her beloved dog Roxy, so she spent hours in the grooming parlour, making sure the ten-year-old pooch had never looked better.
But as she was on the way to the studio, with her other dog Midas as well, Natasha stopped in a car park and Roxy shot out of the car and dived head-first into a boggy lake – covering half her body in filthy mud.
Photographer Alex Cearns, 41, who posted the hilarious pictures online, said: “I came outside to meet the family in the car park and laughed when I saw Roxy all dirty.
“She had run off into the lake a few hundred metres away from the studio.
“The family had stopped on their way to the studio as they were early and wanted to pass some time, and as they opened her car door, Roxy saw her moment to shine.
“Midas had the same idea but he was slower to execute his plan, and was caught before he could reach the water.”
Alex carried on with the shoot and posted the pictures on Facebook – which garnered hundreds of likes from her followers.
She said: “I think for her photo shoot, Roxy wanted to do something different – she wanted to stand out from the crowd.”
The mucky pooch still had her session, producing the adorable pictures of the guilty-looking pooch.
Alex said that Roxy will be returning in a few weeks for a re-shoot.
She added: “Her Mum tells me that this time they are driving straight here.”
