A Shih Tzu and a Lhasa Apso who appeared on Judge Rinder have finally married in a ceremony led by a pug dressed as a vicar — but not everything got off without a hitch.
Diva was caught short walking down the aisle towards future-hubby Max and had to halt the wedding briefly to urinate.
Owners Ann McNeilage, 52, and Sandra Harrison, 54, had organised a wedding between their dogs Diva and Bud three years ago, but disaster struck when Bud died.
They then tried to marry Sandra’s other dog, Lhasa Apso Max, to Shih Tzu Diva but they had to go on TV courtroom show Judge Rinder to sort out their disagreements.
More than 150 people watched Diva walk down the aisle to Puppy Love at the six-hour event which raised money for three charities.
Sandra said: “Max did what he did on Judge Rinder again.
“Max tried to sh*g Diva just after they got the rings on, so that was a bit of fun.”
The ceremony took place at Greenock Cricket Club in Renfrewshire and had a greyhound called Alfie as best man and a Shih Tzu as maid of honour.
A minister, flanked by a pug vicar, asked the pooch pair if they took each other to be “your everlasting friend, will you play together, roll in the mud, lick each other and wag your tail?”
Sandra added: “We had a lovely sunny, dry day for it.
“It was bigger than we thought it was gonna be.”
Sandra and Ann hope to raise £1,000 for ‘Friends 4 Ever’, a club for local children with special needs, Purple Heart Rescue, and Underheugh Ark Rescue.
Judge Rinder got involved after Ann claimed she couldn’t get hold of Sandra while hiring a marquee and wedding dress.
She wanted Judge Rinder to rule on a loss of opportunity and wanted damages for Sandra’s negligence.
Judge Rinder was invited to the wedding he saved but unfortunately didn’t come.
Ann and Sandra are organising a dog festival this Christmas to raise more funds for charity.
