A brave Staffy that had its throat slashed twice by a cruel owner is sniffing out a forever home.
Ten-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier Nate was rescued from the brink of death after suffering horrific injuries in a vicious attack.
But after being months of treatment and some tender loving care, he’s on the look out for a retirement home to spend his final years.

Suzanne Norbury from the RSPCA said: “Nate is just gorgeous. He’s such a lovely lad. He came to us after he’d been picked up by an inspector from the police.
“He was in an awful state. His throat had been slashed from left to right and back again.
“The wound was so deep we weren’t sure he’d survive his injuries.
“The vet did an amazing job and the team dedicated their lives to helping his recovery.
“His dressings were changed everyday for weeks and weeks and he didn’t complain once, he never even raised a hair.
“Sadly he has a haunted look, it’s as if he remembers what happened and is struggling to understand why.
“We sometimes wish he could talk.
“Nate desperately deserves a second chance in a loving retirement home where he can live out his days in peace after recovering from such a horrible ordeal.”
His previous owner Wayne Yorston, 37, was handed an 18-month suspended sentence and a five-year ban from owning animals at St Albans Magistrates’ Court.
The court heard, that Yorston had slashed Nate’s throat while drunk at his family home in Hemel Hempstead, Herts.,on July 18.
Sentencing him on August 8 last year, chair of the bench Peter Raynsford told Yorston: “This is a particularly unpleasant offence that you have committed and I would say that your family aren’t pleased with you and I’m sure your children aren’t happy either.
“If this had gone to trial you would have got custody for this offence.”
Anyone who thinks they can offer a home to Nate email suzanne.norbury@rspca.org.uk with Nate in the title of the email.
RSPCA have advised that the perfect home would not include young children because of his advanced years.
