A tragic dog is desperate to find a new home after it was cruelly abandoned outside a shopping centre with a note round its neck.
The seven-year-old Terrier was confused and suffering from kennel cough when a member of the public approached it.
And around it was a note, saying: “My Name is Jack, my master can no longer look after me, please contact the dogs home”.
Jack, who was found in Bridgend, Wales, has since been treated by vets The Dogs Trust is now looking to find him a new home.
Linda Feagan, Dogs Trust Bridgend supporter relations officer, has spoken of her shock that an owner could abandon such a “sweet, gentle natured” animal.
She said: “It is especially sad when an older dog comes to us, especially when they have been in loving homes all their lives and then find themselves homeless and without their families and familiar comforts.
“We understand that sometimes people’s circumstances change and they can no longer look after their dog, but we would urge people to talk to us directly.
“Jack is such a loving lad, we are all very attached to him at the rehoming centre and are desperate to see him find the loving home which he deserves after his terrible ordeal.”
The Dogs Trust says Jack would suit a patient, experienced owner who will continue his training and help him become part of a family.
He would prefer a quiet home with someone who is around during the day as he can be vocal at times.
Linda added: “He is a sweet-natured boy who can live with older children and a compatible dog. He is a super little chap and he would make a fantastic pet in the right home.”
