This video shows a parrot that ruthlessly mocks her owner – by LAUGHING hysterically during his quarantine workout.
Emma, a 30-year-old macaw, cackled while Kelly Cameron, 40, attempted to exercise on his living room floor.
“She laughed at me every time I did sit-ups,” said Kelly, a call center rep. from West Des Moines, Iowa, USA.
“But I thought it was funny.
“I was just working out with my daughter to keep her busy while we’re in quarantine. She was getting kind of stir crazy.”
Emma might seem totally at home with the Cameron family, but it took her many months to feel comfortable enough to laugh at them.
“Emma is a rescue and we have come a very long way in building trust,” said Kelly’s wife, Jennifer Cameron, 35.
“We don’t know exactly what abuse she suffered, but do know that she hates blankets and being covered, she panics when her food bowl is low, and does not trust women but adores older men.
“We have committed to giving her the best life that we can.
“Our 12-year-old daughter Callah has a very strong bond with Emma and is currently the only family member that can physically handle her without getting bitten.
“Macaws often grieve loss by pulling their feathers out which can lead to self-mutilation; they do not handle sudden change well. Within months of experiencing the loss of her human companion, she was left alone.”
Now that Emma has found a safe place to live, the only thing she has to worry about is finding a more constructive way of motivating her family in their personal training endeavors.
“We’re so glad that she can laugh with us,” said Jennifer.
“We understand that she is a highly perceptive and intelligent creature. We’re so thankful to have been able to welcome her into our family.”
