A family-run charity is facing closure after a council slapped them with an abatement order and threatened them with a £20,000 fine because one person complained their animal sanctuary smelled - of animals. Geoff Grewcock, 72, and his daughter Emma Hudson, AGE, have been rescuing and rehabilitating wildlife for the past 21 years at Nuneaton and Warwickshire Wildlife Sanctuary. The pair say they have provided a free volunteer rescue service without any complaints for more than two decades up until recently after new neighbours moved in. And the pair were left stunned when they received a letter from XXX council informing them they needed to stop their animal centre smelling like animals - or face a fine of up to £20,000.
