A couple who adopted a puppy on the day of the EU referendum named their new pet BREXIT.
Daniel Warner, 40, said that last Friday was “so huge” for Britain that naming the Shih Tzu – Jack Russell cross after the result seemed the obvious choice, despite voting for remain.
He and wife Jane from Sevenoaks, Kent, picked up the pooch 12 hours after Britain learnt its fate.

Daniel said: “I do not feel we will forget Brexit – and we will not be holding her name against the puppy – although I may hold it against some of my friends.
“This is our first puppy and was just a coincidence we got her on the same day.
“We did not expect an out vote – it was such a huge day for England – so we called it Brexit.”

Despite choosing to vote remain, Daniel said that he won’t hold the name against her.
He said: “She is super cute and lovely.
“We are putting everything in place for her at the moment. I am sure things will settle down.
“I am sure things will settle down. We may have a few difficult weeks – it starts off rocky and gets better so hopefully it will all get better.”
In the mean time, little Brexit will spend her first few weeks avoiding accidents by making hasty exists via the back door.
