This is the moment hundreds of England fans mobbed a Jamie Vardy doppelganger – after MISTAKING him for the real thing.

Postman Lee Chapman, 29, is a dead ringer for the Leicester striker and has been swamped with offers of work since being pictured with the star.

The lookalike headed out to France for the Euros and caused a stir when he was spotted outside the Stade Vélodrome in Marseille before England’s game against Russia.

England fan James Bruton, 24, of Cheltenham, Glos., filmed him being mobbed after word spread that ‘Vardy‘ was meeting fans ahead of kick off.

He said: “Some of us had our beer goggles on as we thought it was Vardy in the flesh, but then I realised it was just a bloke that looked like him.

“Regardless of that he was hoisted onto someone’s shoulders and we all started to chant his name which certainly lifted the mood before the game.”

“People were taking selfies, asking for autographs, the lot. I’m convinced that a fair few thought he was the real thing.”
