A mum has slammed Poundland for selling vibrators – on the same shelf as children’s toys.
Dozens of Bonkin’ Bunny Vibrators were stacked between slinkies, Finding Nemo bath towels and sweetie-themed candles at the store in Tolworth, south London.
Horrified shopper Jana Bardsley-Smith, 52, said the £5 sex toys were positioned right next to the checkouts.
The mum-of-two said: “I was amused at first but then I realised I found it annoying.
“It’s not something you want to see at eye level when you are out shopping.
“There is a place and a time to be selling or buying things like that.
“There are a lot of families in the area. I wouldn’t want my child to ask what it is.
“Thankfully I was on my own when I was out shopping. I would say it’s insensitive.
“If they are going to sell things like that, they should be at the back of the store.”
A spokesman for Poundland said the sex toys are on display on a “multi-price shelf” behind the till area at the store, and out of reach of children.
The store says the product is part of its ‘challenge 25’ range and requires customers to produce valid ID in order to buy it.
A Poundland spokesperson said: ““Err, we’re bemused. Our Bonkin Bunny is precisely where it should be – behind the till, out of reach.”
