This is the ridiculous moment the driver of a convertible uses an umbrella to stay dry – rather than closing the roof.
The occupants of the black Vauxhall Tigra opened up the brolly when it began to rain as they stood still in traffic on Saturday afternoon.
The bizarre decision caused amusement among other motorists on the M4 near Brentford, London, who questioned why they didn’t just put the car’s roof up.
Peter Walker, 65, captured the moment on camera and said: “I couldn’t believe it when I saw this umbrella hovering over the car.
“It was only a passing shower but surely it would have been easier to put the roof up than try and take shelter under an umbrella?
“We were stuck in traffic too so they didn’t even need to pull over.
“If nothing else, it helped us pass the time and we saw other drivers around us crack a smile.”
The traffic was caused by an accident occurring as vehicles slowed down to merge into two lanes.
