A homeowner has proved he’s living on the hedge by transforming the shrubbery at the front of his property into the shape of a CATERPILLAR.
The 7ft hedge has been clipped to perfection, outlining two antenna and three bends in the insect’s body.
And to topiary top it off, a ball cut in half has been used to create two eyes and a mouth made from a rolled up binbag have been stuck to its face, giving visitors an extra special welcome.
The man behind the fun home improvement didn’t wish to be identified, but his handiwork has caused quite a stir among neighbours on the terraced residential street in Brierfield, Lancs.
Pharmacist Cherie Collins, 61, said: “What a wonderful way to brighten up your front garden.
“It really makes you smile as you walk down the street.”
“My grandchildren love it, it’s like a real character has come to life.”
Website designer Anthony Garrison, 32, said: “It definitely brings something to the neighbourhood.
“I was quite surprised when I saw it, pleasantly though.
“Not many people make an effort with their front gardens, I think it’s a nice idea.”
