A young woman who found a commemorative Beatrix Potter 50 pence in her loose change was shocked to see an image of JESUS on the coin.
Josephine Paragreen, 22, discovered the Peter Rabbit coin amongst change given to her at a pub where she was enjoying drinks with her family.
However, it was not until a couple of days later that Miss Paragreen, from Hull, East Yorks., realised the coin was truly “blessed” and saw a faint image of Jesus embossed on Peter Rabbit’s nose.

Miss Paragreen said: “I went to the bar to get a few drinks and I got it back in my change.
“When I sat down I noticed it had Peter Rabbit on it. We were all sat there looking at it because it was quite exciting.”
However, there was bigger excitement in store when she spotted the incarnation that bears a striking resemblance to Jesus Christ.
She said: “I got it out the following morning just because I’d been thinking about it and wanted to have another look at it and, when I looked a bit closer, I couldn’t believe it.
“My brother-in-law and my sister were both having a look at it and we both said ‘Yeah, that’s Jesus’.
“I’m certain it wasn’t there before because we were looking so closely at it.”
The Beatrix Potter commemorative coins have been released by the Royal Mint this year to celebrate the children‘s author’s 150th birthday with some collectors snapping them up for around £20 online.
Far from being tempted to cash in on the extraordinary piece, Miss Paragreen says she will treasure the coin in “a safe place”.
