A couple were baffled when their hens laid a bizarre assortment of eggs – ranging from a mini one to a giant double-yolker.
Fred, 69, and Julie Ovey, 63, were left shocked after a routine check on their brood discovered the odd collection.
The smallest was the size of a pound coin and the largest as big as a duck egg.

Fred, a retired teacher of Barnstaple, Devon, said they had “no idea whatsoever” what lay behind the mismatch.
And the couple were left even more puzzled when they decided to crack open the eggs.
The smallest had no yolk, the regular sized egg one yolk and largest contained two.
Fred said: “It was quite a shock. We have got 11 chickens in total and this has been a one-off.”

Julie, a retired school administrator, said: “The biggest one I imagine could have been two eggs joined together and laid by one of our rescue hens.
“The little one could have been a first practice attempt for one of them.
“We have never seen anything like it before though. We have had big eggs before but not as large as that one.
“It was incredibly striking seeing them next to each other.”
The couple, who usually sell their eggs to raise money for the British Hen Welfare Trust, invited people into their home to view the unusual batch before discovering what lay inside them last week.
