Your hair is an important part of who you are. It doesn’t change your personality but it can change the way you look. More importantly, hair that looks and feels great will make you feel good about yourself. This boosts your confidence levels and allows you to feel capable of anything.

Although this shouldn’t be necessary, the truth is that society still judges people on appearance and having great hair makes you feel fantastic. That allows you to try things you wouldn’t otherwise do.

Of course, most people are limited on time and use heat-styling products to help them get the best possible look. That shouldn’t be an issue. However, there are a few things you should know about hot brushes.

The Issue With Hot Brushes

A hot brush runs straight through your hair and applies heat as it does so. It can dry your hair and help you to style it. But, while it is doing this it is also removing the water from your hair. The heat and simultaneous brushing can damage the oil that coats your hair. Once you strip this away your hair will quickly become dry and brittle, making it easily damaged and very difficult to style.

The Right Hot Brush

The good news is that you don’t have to stop using a hot brush. However, you do need to spend a little extra and get one of the best ones on the market, such as these impressive GHD hot brushes.

The advantage of the premium products is they are coated to ensure a better glide through your hair and, most importantly, they have adjustable heat settings.

That means you can get the same results at a lower heat setting, reducing the likelihood of damage being done to your hair.

How Often To Use It

Hot brushes are a great way to get the desired style when you have very little time. That’s why so many people use them daily. However, it is best to give your hair a day or two off a week. Whenever possible, let your hair dry naturally. You should still be able to style it without using a hairdryer or a hot brush.µ

By giving your hair a day or two off from the heat styling products, you’re helping to ensure it retains all the nutrients it needs and isn’t being damaged by the heat.

Additional Tips

You probably already know this but you should never use a hot brush on wet hair. It is always best to let your hair be at least 80% dry. This reduces the pressure on the hot brush, the amount of heat on your hair, and allows it to work effectively.

Hot brushes are designed to help you eliminate frizz and keep your hair looking great on the days you don’t want to style it with a hairdryer. By using different tools on different days you’re less likely to damage your hair while keeping it looking perfect.
