This shocking video footage captures the moment a light-fingered thief steals a charity tin from a shop counter.
The real-life Fagin can be seen loitering by the till while store manager Samet Uguzhan is distracted helping a customer.
In the blink of an eye he slips the blue charity box – containing an estimated £40 – inside his jacket.
Samet says it is the first time he has witnessed such a theft in 10 years running the Istanbul Supermarket in Easton, Bristol.
“I was with a customer inside the store,” he said. “When I came back to the counter I saw something was missing and realised it was one of the charity boxes.
“I checked the camera. I’ve worked here 10 years, it’s the first time it’s happened.”
The charity box was raising money for the Palestine Solidarity Campaign.
