A clubber who was attacked with a stiletto leaving her needing medical care claims she was locked in a room by nightclub staff when she pleaded with them for help.

Sophie Roberts, 28, says she was hit three times in the eye with a stiletto by another clubber in an unprovoked attack while waiting at the bar for water.

When she asked nightclub staff for help she says they locked her in a room for 40 minutes and refused to get her medical help or call an ambulance.

The attack took place on September 17 at Unit 7 nightclub in Basildon, Essex.

Despite the fact that the horrific, unprovoked attack left Sophie’s left eye bloodied and swollen she says she was never offered any first aid by the club and left in a taxi because they refused to call an ambulance.

She said: “I was crying and shaking in a lot of pain I couldn’t understand why I wasn’t getting help.

“I was offered no first aid at all not even any comfort or compassion from the staff even when I repeatedly asked them what has happened to me and that I must get help.”

After the attack Sophie says she was left locked in a room for over 40 minutes and was even told not to get blood on the floor by the manager.

The club claim that the reason Sophie left in a taxi was because the ambulance service recommended that she catch a taxi to the hospital.

Sophie, who was out with eight other women for a friend’s birthday, said: “I was very excited to have a girly night out and make new friends as I didn’t know the other girls in the group.

“I spent ages with my friend doing our hair and choosing what dress to wear and dancing to music together before we left.

“We were all in a happy mood looking forward to the night ahead.”

She said: “I will now be left with physical scars for the rest of my life and for any girl that is hard to deal with.

“Unit 7s shocking treatment of me on that night is nothing short of disgusting.”

The attack left Sophie with a hemorrhage at the back of her eye.

She said: “The fear of loosing my eyesight has been horrific the emotional and physical pain has been unbearable for not just me but my family in particular my two small children who was very scared and upset.”

A spokesperson from Unit 7 nightclub said: “The safety and welfare of our customers is our number one priority and we wish the victim of this senseless attack a full and speedy recovery.

“We did everything possible on the night to support the victim, including administering first aid and contacting the ambulance service, who recommended the victim should catch a taxi to the hospital.

“We continue to cooperate fully with the Police investigation.”
