Shocking footage shows the moment a hit-and-run driver reverses over a woman in a packed street before speeding off.
The 20-year-old victim was crossing the road when she was mown down by a silver car, sending her hurtling several feet into the air.
The horrific incident was captured on CCTV outside a Co-Op shop in Briton Street, Leicester at 4.30pm last Tuesday (31/10).
Footage released by Leicestershire Police show the moment the two men in the car initially got out to check on the woman before getting back in and speeding away.
PC Fiona White, who is investigating, said: “We would like to speak to anyone who was in Briton Street that afternoon and who may have seen the collision take place.
“It was Halloween and the CCTV shows that the area was busy at the time.
“We also want to speak to anyone who recognises the two people seen getting out of the car.
“If you are one of those two men, clearly we need to speak to you as part of our investigation, and I ask you to come forward.”
The woman is believed to have suffered minor injuries but was later seen being treated by paramedics.

Pub landlord Phillip Parker, who witnessed the aftermath of the incident, said: “I remember we were very busy when it happened and I didn’t actually see it.
“But later on I saw the woman being taken away in an ambulance and someone who had helped her came in here and said that her leg was injured.
“I’m not happy about something like this happening here – people reverse too quickly along there and there are often lots of people coming out of the park in big groups at that time of day.
“They need to look properly where they’re going and they need to take more care.”
