A lone woman waiting at a busy high street crossing had a nasty shock – as a random attacker ran past and PUNCHED her in the face.
Horrifying video footage shows the suspect smacking the woman so hard in the head she was knocked sideways.
The 25-year-old victim was left very distressed and injured after the attack, which was caught by CCTV cameras.
Police are now hunting for the 6ft tall black man who landed the cruel punch at a pedestrian crossing in Clapham High Street, south London on Wednesday, September 14.
DC Dan Nash, from Lambeth CID, said: “The victim was simply going about her business when out of the blue a man approached her from behind and punched her in the side of her head before running off.
“This was an unprovoked attack which has left the victim very distressed. CCTV footage shows the man loitering at the location for a few minutes before the attack.
“Clapham High Street was very busy at the time of the incident. Someone must have seen something, so I am appealing for any witnesses or anyone who recognises the man to come forward.”

The victim, who had minor injuries, flagged down cops after the assault, who then searched the area but couldn’t find the attacker.
Police are hunting for the man, aged between 30 and 40 years, with short black hair, described as clean shaven or with short stubble, wearing dark trousers and a green jacket.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “No arrests have been made and enquires continue.”
Anyone with information is urged to call police or Crimestoppers.
