In a witty CV, in which he dubbed George as ‘The Vintage One’, he listed his strengths as scouting managing difficult stakeholders (mostly family) and his loyalty – having watched the club all his life. Antony hilariously highlighted George’s role in raising three children, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren under youth development coaching skills. And he said George, who went to his first game aged just one, even has a secret weapon – his lucky hat that he wore during Witton’s route to the 1991-92 FA Trophy final at Wembley.
