Love-struck Matt Collins wanted to do something special for his wedding day bridegroom’s speech so he made an eye-opening pimp-style rap video.
Dressed in a garish red velvet pimp suit, zebra print hat and ginger wig Matt, 31, was filmed singing his heart out for his “snowflake” 28-year-old Melissa.
The video was filmed in Huntingdon town centre and St Ives in Cambs., and features Matt spitting lyrics on top of bins, in the discount store Poundland and in an open field.
Matt, a teacher at Littlehey prison unveiled his cringe-worthy rap video at the wedding reception after his marriage to primary school teacher Melissa.
He said: “I already had a poem which I read and I wanted to do something different to show my love for my wife.
“I absolutely can’t sing and I was pleasantly surprised with the response. I thought it would go down about 50-50 between those who liked it and those who didn’t.
“But I think 90 per cent enjoyed it and 10 per cent were shocked.”
Matt claims his new bride “loved it”.
He worked on the project with his friend David Kinally of Dotty Photography.
The couple, who now live in St Ives, met when Matt moved into a house share in Huntingdon and it was love at first sight.
Matt said: “When I arrived she came out to greet me and offered me a cup of tea. I don’t even like tea to be honest, but I had a sip just to keep the conversation going.”
The pair married at St Mary the Virgin, Newport and held their reception at The Ash in Stansted and are now off to teach in China.
