Nine perfectly behaved pooches pose for hilarious canine-inspired Christmas nativity scene
The festive mutts can be seen adorned in robes, capes and even hats for the photo which was taken at Lyme Park, Cheshire.
The cast includes two cavapoos, four cockapoos, a beagle, a poogle and a goldendoodle.
Barney, the ten-week-old cavapoo, can be seen in the starring role as baby Jesus while two cockapoos named Digby and Amber play Mary and Joseph.
Bella, the goldendoodle, and Pippa, the cockapoo, play angels while another cockapoo, Henry, plays a King and Brie, the beagle, plays an excellent Queen.
Iggy, the poogle, drew the short straw and ended up as a donkey as Holly, another cavapoo, takes on the role of a shepherd.
The canines are dressed in a variety of festive adornments, including a halo fashioned from tinsel, while baby Jesus is curled up in a crib made from a wrapped up old box.
The pictures were taken by Ruth Coxon, from Cheshire, who owns Digby and Amber.
She said: “Me and a group of friends go dog walking together and we had a fantastic idea to try to get our dogs to recreate a little nativity scene.
“We had great fun planning it all out and deciding which dogs should play which part. For a bit of fun we decided to let the most mischievous ones play angels.”
Ruth and her friends congregated at Lyme Park, a beautiful National Trust estate, on December 13 to dress their pooches up and take some pics.
She said: “As you can imagine it wasn’t the easiest thing in the world to organise.
“To get all the dogs wearing their outfits and sitting properly at exactly the same time proved to be quite a challenge.
“Luckily we managed to do it for a few seconds and I took some pictures. We’re all really thrilled with how they came out.”
Ruth added: “We did it for a bit of fun and to hopefully put a smile on one or two people’s faces.
“If people can see the photos and have a little laugh then it’s all worth it as far as I’m concerned.”
