Brooke Goacher, four, is obsessed with the chain – and begs her mum Jodie Buckley, 28, for a daily trip.

Jodie contacted a store worker to see if they could make a uniform for her daughter in her size – and a tiny blue shirt and jumper arrived in time for Christmas.

She was also offered a shift for Sunday (9/1) morning at the Tesco in Carlton, Nottingham – and spent two whole hours serving customers.

Jodie, from Hucknall, said: “She was so excited, she mentioned it every morning and she said, ‘Mummy, is it my day to go to work?’

“She went on the tills, Checkout 4 – it’s got to be Checkout 4, I don’t know why!”

“We were sat there with her brother and sister, just saying, ‘what would you like to be when you’re older?’

“She just came out with, ‘I want to work at Tesco!’.

“From there it’s become and obsession – we’ll say, ‘would you like to go anywhere?’ and she’ll say ‘can we just go to Tesco?’

“We just end up driving round the different Tesco’s, I’ve taken her to about five.

“I’ve taken her to M&S and Sainsbury’s too but they’re not the same.”

Every day after picking up Brooke and her two siblings Layla, seven, and Jack, five, the girl will immediately ask if they can pop by the shop.

The stay-at-home mum said: “People keep saying it’s because you buy her things, but we’ll just go in and get bread and milk.

“She just loves it, I do not know what the obsessions is!”

She even bought her a Tesco till for her fourth birthday to practice on.

In December, Jodie posted on Facebook asking if anyone knew of a way she could get hold of a child-sized Tesco uniform.

A worker from the Tesco in Carlton responded saying that she’d ask her manager, and a few days later an iconic blue polo and jumper had been made specially for the tot.

“We wrapped it up for her and she opened it on Christmas morning,” said Jodie.

“It made her Christmas!

“It was like pure excitement, ‘do I get to work at Tesco?’ she kept saying.”

The superstore also booked the little girl in for a shift yesterday (9/1) on the tills for her to try out her dream job for an hour.

Brooke was supposed to only work for about an hour, but was so stuck in she stayed for two, scanning in items and chatting to customers.

Her mum added: “She was loving it!

“She was serving the customers – everyone thought it was so cute!

“She didn’t want to come home, I sort of had to prise her off the till.

“She went and clocked in and clock out with her own clocking card, she went on a break to the staff room.

“She was asking all the customers if they have a Clubcard – she knew what she was doing!”

The excited tot even fell asleep in the car on the way home.

Jodie added: “Times are hard and there’s a lot of doom and gloom, but people still go out there and try and help you.”
