Annie McElvein, 25, decided to take the plunge and ask her hairdresser for to cut bangs - a fringe or strands of hair that fall over the forehead usually to just above the eyebrows. Annie fancied a style change and didn't anticipate ending up looking like the hobbit. She was shocked when she washed her new hair and glanced in the mirror to see a stark resemblance to Frodo Baggins. Luckily, Annie is chuffed with the outcome as she "enjoys looking different" - and hopes to one day meet Frodo actor Elijah Wood. Annie, an environmental science student, who lives in Queenstown, New Zealand, said: "I just thought it would be fun to have bangs and ended up looking like Frodo Baggins.
