A former head girl and straight-A pupil has returned to her old classroom – after being employed as a TEACHER.
Clarette Goodhead, 28, left secondary school in 2005 after securing nine As at GCSE.
After continuing her studies and going to university, Clarette did a PGCE before moving to Dubai where she worked as an English teacher.
But she has now returned to her old classroom after successfully applying for a job teaching 11-year-olds at Madeley High School, in Crewe, Cheshire.

Miss Goodhead, who was in the netball team and elected head girl, started her new role earlier this month and even teaches in her old classroom.
She said: “I’ve always had a soft spot for Madeley. I was born here and I live here.
“Initially it was strange. There’s still members of staff here that actually taught me when I was a pupil.

“So it was very strange to begin with, as you have to distinguish between these different roles.
“The classroom I used to have English lessons in is now my classroom, which is a bit strange but I love it.”
“There was a teacher called Mrs Allen who used to teach PE at Madeley.
“One day Mrs Allen told me that I would make a good teacher so that’s why I’m where I am today.

“The school hasn’t changed much since I was a student to be honest.
“The buildings are very much the same.
Clarette left the school in 2005 before doing A-Levels at South Cheshire College. She then studied English at the University of Birmingham before doing a PGCE at Keele University.
Madeley High School caters for 635 pupils aged 11-16 and was rated ‘good’ in its last Ofsted report.
