A pensioner has celebrated beating coronavirus by dancing with her young great-granddaughter for a sweet TikTok video.
Margaret Shaw, 84, was admitted to Ipswich Hospital after developing symptoms.
The beloved pensioner is currently battling numerous health conditions including cancer and suffered two strokes earlier this year.
After testing positive for coronavirus, her family feared the worst but incredibly, Margaret has beaten the virus and is already back home in Chantry, Suffolk.
Throughout lockdown, Margaret has been isolating at home alone with her family visiting to bring her essentials.
Two days after Margaret returned home from hospital, her youngest daughter Nicola Dean, 53, brought her granddaughter Lexi, AGE, to see her.
They filmed a touching TikTok video where Margaret and young Lexi performed a famous TikTok dance and the result is simply heartwarming.
Nicola said: “We are really happy that she’s come home safe and sound – she’s amazing, we’ve given her the nickname ‘bionic woman’.
“Mum’s stay in hospital was a scary and very emotional two weeks for all of the family. It was a petrifying time as we couldn’t be with her.
“Knowing how vulnerable she was with her underlying conditions, we were really hopeful that she didn’t have covid but two days later, we were told the dreadful news that she did.
“The hospital staff were amazing and it was like a dream come true when she finally got to go home.
“We visited her two days after she got discharged from hospital, and my granddaughter Lexi was telling her all about the TikTok videos she’d been making.
“Mum thought it would be lovely to do a TikTok dance video with Lexi to celebrate her beating covid – she loves and lives her life for her grandchildren.
“Lexi taught the dance to her the day they filmed the video and it was so lovely to see Mum dancing and laughing like that after what she’d been through.”
