A terrified mum has told how she almost had her leg CHEWED off by a devil dog in a terrifying attack which left her needing 50 stitches

Keeleigh Jacques, 23, was left scarred for life when a Staffordshire Bull Terrier sank its jaws around her thigh and shin.

Her injuries were so severe she was left with deep puncture wounds to the bone and scratches all over her legs and arms where she bravely fought the crazed mutt.

The dog, which was off the lead, launched at the mum-of-three in broad daylight as she walked down Horton Street, Lincoln, on August 11.

Horrified passers-by managed to wrestle the dog off her and Keeleigh was rushed to Lincoln County Hospital where she underwent surgery to save her right leg.

She ended up needing 35 stitches on her shin and 11 in her thin and has been left deeply traumatised by the attack.

Keeleigh, of Worksop, Notts., reported the attack to police but despite telling them the name of the dog’s owner, the Crown Prosecution Service refused to press charges, saying there was a “lack of evidence.”

legShe said: “I can’t sleep at night. I’m on quite a few tablets and I am having break downs.

“I can’t walk near a dog. Sometimes I have nightmares that a dog is coming to get me.I’m really struggling.

“Before the attack I had driven to Lincoln to speak with the owner of the dog on a personal matter but it got heated so I left.

“At that moment the dog leapt at me and started eating my shin like it was a bone. I thought it was going to chew my leg off.

“I’ve never known so much pain in my life but the dog just kept biting me.

“Someone managed to get the dog off me and I was taken to hospital. I reported the attack to the police and they came and questioned the owner but the CPS won’t take it any further because of a lack of evidence.

“I don’t know how much more evidence they need. My leg is scarred for life and I know exactly where the owner of the dog lives. I feel really let down.”

Keeleigh has been in and out of hospital following the attack and has had to be operated on twice after her wound became infected.

The full-time mum added: “I’ve been left with a lot of scarring and the whole ordeal has left me traumatised.”
