A sweet little girl has been collecting colouring books and pencils to send to Ukrainian children who have fled to Poland.
Katie Fleming, eight, was moved after seeing children on the news who were fleeing their homes in with hardly any belongings.
So the schoolgirl, from Dundee, Scotland, decided she would gather colouring books, pencils, activity books and cards to send to Poland in the hope of bringing some joy.
In just one week, kind Katie gathered 371 items thanks to the generosity of her family, friends, school and local community.
And sent her collection off to Poland on Wednesday afternoon (9/3).
Her proud dad Lindsay Fleming said: “Katie is our little sunshine.
“Katie saw how the kids had to leave everything and wanted to help them so she decided she wanted to send colouring books and pencils and cards to play Snap.
“She couldn’t be more grateful for the help she has had and said she wishes to continue with helping in the future.
“We are extremely proud of her and so blessed. Katie has always had a big heart for others, she is just beautiful and us as parents are blown away with how much she does.
“Katie just wants Ukraine to know that people care and me and her mum, Rebecca, couldn’t be more proud. We were extremely happy to help her – we have a beautiful, kind, loving little girl who just wants to make others happy.”
