Three teenage girls have become internet stars after they were filmed buying food and a blanket for a homeless man.
Friends Natasha Osborne, Danielle McCarthy and Chloe Parker, all 13, had been enjoying a meal at Pizza Hut when they saw the lonely man shivering outside the nearby cinema.
The kind-hearted youngsters hurried to Asda and spent the £15 they had left over from their meal on getting him some food, water and a fleecy blanket.
The school girls, from Hartlepool, then presented the man with the supplies and the remaining change as Danielle caught the act on camera.
They hoped that filming it would encourage their friends to do something similar but since they posted the moving video on Facebook it has gone viral with over 50,000 views.
Natasha said: “He said he couldn’t thank us enough and he hoped karma would be good to us.”
“We put it on Facebook to try to get more people to do stuff like that. It is amazing, we didn’t think it would get this much attention.”
The man told the girls, who all attend English Martyrs School, how he had ended up on the streets.
Chloe, who lives at Rossmere, added: “He said he gave up his job and his home to come here to be with his girlfriend, but they had broken up and he was trying to get back to Ipswich.”
Natasha’s mum, Lesley Davison, said: “I think they’re amazing. Not many kids would do what they have done. I’m proud of them all.”
