A love-struck pensioner is asking for help to track down a mystery OAP he met on a bench – but didn’t have the guts to give his number to.
Retired Philip Raynes, 63, was sitting on a bench in his home town when an elderly woman walking her dog came to sit next to him.
The pair shared a ”magic moment” together, before Philip’s taxi arrived and he ran off without so much as exchanging names with the woman.
He is now appealing for help to track down the woman, as he does not want to spend his twilight years alone.
Philip was sitting on a bench opposite Poundland in the town centre of Camborne, Cornwall, when the mystery woman came to sit next to him, roughly two months ago.
She is described as being 70-years-old, slim with short white hair, and was walking a small dog with a penchant for putting its tongue in people’s mouths.
Philip has taken to returning to the same park to look for the woman, but has so far being unable to find her.
Philip said: “She had a little dog that jumped up and sat on my lap and we got chatting and seemed to get on very well.
“A few minutes later my taxi came and foolishly I upped and left without asking for her contact details.
“It would be really nice to see her again.
“It was a couple of months ago now and recently I’ve been coming into town more and more to try and find her but so far have had no luck.
“We were having a lovely chat so it would be great to see her again and see what happens from there.”
