Omar Al Shaikh, from Brierley Hill, holds high school sweetheart Amie Cresswell, also 16, in his arms as he makes his dying wish come true. The brave teenager finally lost his long battle for life at Birmingham’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Monday, after becoming a married man. Omar had proposed to girlfriend Amie just hours after discovering that he only had days left to live. With the permission of their parents, the pair married in an emotional ceremony, surrounded by close family and friends. Placing a ring made of a flower on Amie’s finger, Omar said he ‘wanted the whole world to see him marry her’.
