This is the adorable moment a dinner lady was given a Guard of Honour by students after she officially became a US citizen.
Catering manager Yanet Lopez, originally from Cuba, moved to Oklahoma a few years ago with her family for better job opportunities.
She dreamed of becoming a US citizen and studied hard for the test, alongside her entire family.
And when she passed, the teachers and students at Deer Creek Prairie Vale Elementary School in Edmond, Oklahoma, were delighted.
They lined the corridors and as she walked through the school, greeted her with applause and cheers.
Her whole family, including her husband and three children, aged 17 to 28, all passed too.
A spokesperson for the school said: “A HUGE SHOUTOUT to Ms. Yanet, our sweet cafeteria manager, who passed her test to become a US citizen!!! HOORAY!!
“Every morning Ms. Yanet walks into the office and proclaims ‘good morning pretty ladies’ and with a smile and a laugh.
“She always starts the day with a positive message.
“I am so excited for Ms. Yanet and the realization of one of her dreams in passing her citizenship test!
“We laughed that she would know more than those of us born in the USA.
“I am honored to work with one best US citizens I know.”
Yanet thanked the school children and her fellow staff members with hugs as she passed through.
The video was taken by school principal Michelle Anderson on April 6.
