Fed-up locals living next to a historic Shakespeare property say their lives have been made “hell” by drug dealers and anti-social yobs. Residents on South Green Drive in Stratford-upon-Avon, Warks., say they are too scared to leave their homes after dark. The leafy street - where house prices average £406,000 - is close to Anne Hathaway's Cottage, the wife of William Shakespeare. Residents living on the road were too scared to be named fearing reprisals, but say their lives have become “miserable”. One woman, who has lived on the road for 50 years, said: “It’s quite frightening when you see cars full of big men sitting in the street. “We have had drug dealers move in next door and you get these big burly blokes coming in and out at all times of the day and night. “You’ve got to pretend that you don’t see it. You see the younger dealers buzzing around the area too. “They tend to go in next to the children's play area so they are not overlooked by people's homes. “You also get kids aged 14 and 15 coming up in the holidays and throwing stones at people’s windows. “Talking to the police, it’s obvious they can’t cope. It’s the County Lines drug gangs who are operating here. “We live in one of the most beautiful towns in the country, yards away from Anne Hathaway’s famous cottage, but our lives are miserable.” Another young mum, who moved to the street six years ago, said: “When I first moved here it was older, retired people. “It was beautiful and people would be out making their gardens look nice. “Then a housing association took over a few properties and young people moved in and then came the drugs. “We had people move in next door to me who were obviously dealing drugs. “I’d lose count of how many times I saw the police round there. “The area is falling apart and people who used to stop for a chat now lock themselves in their homes. It’s sad really but the criminals have won.” Other residents say the estate often organised community barbecues and street sales but that had all come to an end. One said: “People just aren’t interested any more. “I’ve tried to organise barbecues and this and that people just keep themselves to themselves now. “I feel for one couple near me, they have two young children and they have to walk past a known drug den to take their kids to school. “I can pick a druggie out really well. You just get used to it, it’s normal now. “I’ve had plain clothed police officers sat in front of my drive, just watching them. “I've seen armed police come and raid homes. It’s a weekly occurrence. “These men just park outside across people’s driveways, they do their drug deals and go. They don’t care who they upset. They’re scary men. “You can tell they’re dodgy, something isn’t right. It’s all since the buildings were taken over and given to younger people. "It's not right that it happens. I've lived here 20 years and it used to be so lovely." Another resident added: “We are desperate to get the neighbourhood cleaned up after years of hellish anti-social behaviour. "I'm mentally exhausted and don't know what else I have to do. "It's disappointing, given I'm trying to get my neighbourhood cleansed of this persistent blight on the community." A spokesperson for Orbit housing, which owns several properties on the road, said: "We do not condone anti-social behaviour in any of our properties and understand the negative impact these issues have on other residents. "We're listening to the concerns raised by residents and thanks to the information they've provided, we're working closely with the local authority and police to take appropriate action including pursuing legal action for breach of tenancy. "We encourage all of our customers to continue to report incidents of anti-social behaviour to the police as well as ourselves as we work together to deter and prevent similar issues in the future." Crime figures show there were 89 crimes in the area in February, including 20 for anti-social behaviour and 35 for violence and sexual offences. A lifeboat found floating in the sea after being stolen by pirates has been turned into a 'Yellow Submarine' for glamping. Andy Barton, 58, transformed the discarded vessel into camp-site accommodation. It has a fully-equipped kitchen featuring a fridge, hob, sink, double-bed, single bunk-bed, a dining area with a sofa and an outdoor BBQ and firepit. The sub was originally used on a big tanker ship named 'Northsea Pioneer' until it was attacked by Somali Pirates off the East African coast in 2019. The escaping pirates stole the vessel and years year the lifeboat was discovered drifting between the UK and northern Spain. Some friends of Andy's found the lifeboat off the coast of Portsmouth - and they held onto it until Andy decided to turn it into a fake submarine. Andy, a semi-retired engineer who lives in London, said: "The words yellow and submarine just go together. "I was originally going to do it as a Beatles-themed venture - but kids won't resonate with that now sadly! "The emphasis is all about the fun and it's great for families or anyone who is looking for something a bit different and unique!" Andy managed to get hold of the lifeboat in September last year, and it took him around six months to transform the lifeless vessel into a hyper-realistic submarine. The submarine has real-life buttons and control panels, and Andy said: "It really looks like the inside of a real submarine! "There are loads of buttons, with lights and sounds too. "I wanted it yellow because I wanted it visible - it slaps you in the face when you're driving up to the site!" This is not Andy's first time converting transport into accommodation as he has also converted two American School buses into glamping spots. Andy purchased the buses in 2021 in an online auction based in Texas and California. He said: "I meant to buy one but accidentally bought two - as you do after a couple of gin and tonics!" One bus is based in the same location as the submarine - Petruth Paddocks campsite in Cheddar. Andy explains how he was after a location that did not fit a "corporate vibe", as he was not after anything "too stiff or formal" - but when he met Julian Sayer, who owns and manages the campsite the two hit it off immediately. Andy said: "I did a site visit and loved Julian - he's passionate and fun, unconventional without being too weird. "It's an informal place where kids can run around and have fun." Andy hopes to be taking his Submarine and bus to Glastonbury festival this year, as both are fully portable. He said: "The buses can be driven and the submarine lives permanently on a trailor. "We've just had our first guest in the sub and hopefully many more to come!" Having just opened up for bookings last week, the submarine is live for anyone interested in spending some time away in the Somerset countryside. Amy Winehouse fans are flocking to visit the star's favourite haunts following the release of a new biopic - despite mixed reviews. The late singer is heavily associated with the London borough of Camden, which also served as a backdrop to many scenes in the recently released 'Back to Black'. The film has come in for criticism, with some claiming it goes too easy on Winehouse's dad Mitch and her ex-husband, Blake Fielder-Civil. Fans revealed on Wednesday they had travelled from all over to visit Camden - with one couple having journeyed more than 700 miles from Barcelona. Scarlet Elias, 43, came from the Spanish city with her partner Albert to see a statue of the singer - but says she refuses to watch the film. She said: “We are huge fans. I am always looking for places with Amy Winehouse. “I haven’t seen it because of the way it shows her father. I don’t think he treated her right. The film shouldn’t have been made in this way. It is too focused on her relationship with Blake. “She was a good singer; it shouldn’t be about all the drugs she did.” The bronze statue, created by Scott Eaton, was unveiled in Stables Market in 2014, three years after the singer's death. Ayoub Achkah, 24, works serving beer next to the statue and says Winehouse brings in lots of customers. He said: “Everyone everyday poses with that statue. People are always asking us where the statue is even though it is right in front of them. “It brings a lot of people here for sure. They come here for the statue and end up having a beer. “Amy Winehouse is Camden. She brought it to where it is now. It is a small statue but it is the symbol of Camden.” Similar beliefs were held by fans who had flocked to the street art mural of Winehouse, painted by artist JXC on the back of The Hawley Arms pub. Two students from Brighton University were visiting the mural mere moments after watching the movie on an Amy Winehouse themed tour of Camden. The pair had conflicting opinions on the films more controversial scenes, but were in agreement that lead actress Marisa Abela had done a great job. Lewis McClean, 20, said: “We are big fans. We have just seen the movie. We feel very conflicted about it. “The lady who played Amy was very good, she did her justice. That is something I was worried about going in. I really liked the movie. “She knew that she had to go through a struggle to make good music and I am glad they portrayed that. To make a good film you have to put in the juicy parts.” Maddy Gower, 21, added: “I feel very conflicted about the father stuff. In the film they made him look like a hero. “[And] there was a part where she says, ‘I just want to be known for what I do’ but they just showed the drugs. “Amy is so unique, and I think the actress did a very good job." The Flamin’ Eight Tattoo Studio features as a spot used by Winehouse and Fielder-Civil in the film. The owners said it was a pleasure to welcome Hollywood to north London. Naresh Bhana, 56, who has been working at the shop for 22 years said: “They rented the whole place as a location. They came in and redecorated completely. “It was kind of weird seeing the movie the other day knowing that it was our studio, especially because it was all different colours. “In the trailer they showed the front of our shop, so that was really cool. “Amy used to come here back in the day. We met her a couple of times in passing. We love her music she is great. She is an integral part of Camden.” Sonia Bhana, 51, added: “We are used to having camera crews here, but this was a totally different kettle of fish. This was Hollywood. “The actress was really lovely and was cuddling Paco [their 13-year-old chihuahua]. Sam Taylor-Johnson was really lovely too.” On the film itself Mrs Bhana said: “I absolutely loved it. I didn’t know what to expect because there have been some controversial reviews. “I came out of it inspired to make music again. For a film to affect me like that it was really well put together. It has been a while since I have felt so emotional about a film. “It warmed my heart because it was Camden. It was so good to see all the spots that I had gone to as a child. You are reliving your youth in a way.” The couple say that their studio attracts a lot of Amy fans, and that they have done plenty of tattoos of the star in their time. Another of the locations used in filming was The Good Mixer pub in Camden Town, which was supposedly one of the singer's favourites. The movie retells how the star met Fielder-Civil whilst playing pool in the venue. Mondi Elezi, 45, who has been working at the pub for six years says the filming crew took over the site for five days.
