Ukrainian schoolboy brothers who escaped the war told of their joy as they spent their first day as pupils at a UK school. The Kyrychenko family fled their home in Kyiv the day Russian forces invaded their homeland last month. They crossed the border into Poland after queuing for 10 hours with thousands of other refugees fleeing Putin’s war machine. The family they drove across Europe, travelling through Germany and France, arriving at the U.K. via Ireland at the beginning of March.
