A bride-to-be who couldn’t get married because of lockdown was given the ultimate date-night by her fiance – including a hot tub and cinema in their garden.
Charley Godbold, 26, and Louis St.Romaine, 31, had to postpone their wedding due to the coronavirus.
The couple, from London but currently living in Nottingham, had planned to get married on June 13 after getting engaged five years ago.
But instead groom-to-be Louis set up a hot tub, fairy lights and cinema projector with screen to watch movies.
Charley, who works in network marketing said: “We were sad, and we wanted to do something that day.
”I wanted to watch a movie and have a nice night, but my fiancé wanted something a bit more special, so he arranged a romantic getaway for us.
“He set up a shelter in our garden with fairy lights, a hot tub, a projector and a screen so we could watch films on it.”
Charley shared photos of the setup on her Facebook profile and the post has now received over 38k likes, 93k comments and 287k shares.
She said: “We just wanted a good night. We watched the Notebook and had some drinks. We were not expecting it to get so popular.”
Louis proposed to Charlie just four months and a half after their baby, Louis Junior, who is now five-years-old, was born.
This October they will complete seven years of being together and they are now saving up to buy a house while they raise their son.
Charlie said: “It was nice getting to do something different.
”Since the lockdown started, we have been taking care of our son, while he is homeschooling and taking him for short nature trails when we can.”
The wedding has now been postponed to the 7th of November.
