This Barbie is the world’s best travelled DOLL having visited eight countries and six US states – and even taken a helicopter tour over a glacier.
Avid explorer Stephanie McDonald, 37, jets around the world with her barbie companion – bought before a solo trip through Europe in May 2018 – in tow.
The backpacker was keen to document her travels and instead of taking normal landscape pictures, she snaps photos of ‘Felicia’ in her favourite places.
Stephanie has taken Felicia across the West Coast of America to California, Washington, Alaska and South Carolina.
The doll has also been pictured in Berlin, Krakow, Poland, Prague, Austria, Bratislava, Slovenia, Hungary and Croatia.
Felicia has waved at the guards at Checkpoint Charlie in Berlin, swam in the sea in Croatia and had a picnic in Budapest.
Stephanie, a paralegal, from Crofton, Maryland, US, said: “I won’t go anywhere without her anymore. She became such a huge part of my travels and she was such a good ice breaker.
“It became a thing and my friends and family seemed to be more interested in her pictures than mine.
“But it was also a really good talking point because people would ask and say ‘what’s with the doll?’, so I would explain and they just loved it.”
Felicia became a real hit during a pub crawl in Bratislava, Slovakia.
Stephanie said: “Felicia ended up becoming the unofficial mascot of the pubcrawl.
“The organiser would hold her up and say ‘Felicia’s leaving’ and that was our cue to go.
“She would just be missing and I would look and she would be with someone singing karaoke in German.
“It was entertaining and everyone just loved it.
“We went out to dinner and some of the guys were putting accessories on her. It was a really good thing to talk about.”
Felicia also had an array of outfits to travel in – so she was ready for any occasion.
Stephanie added: “She has more outfits than me.
“She’s got four different Christmas outfits alone.
“She’s got everything she might need, for cold and hot weather, smart and casual, everything.”
When Stephanie isn’t travelling, Felicia is still a part of her everyday life.
“I can’t go anywhere without Felicia now – she’s a massive part of my life,’ she said.
“We’ve got her set up at home ready for Christmas and I can’t wait to take her on some more adventures when we can again.”
